A Gentle Pause

🌿 A Simple Calming Exercise: “The Gentle Pause”

  1. Find a quiet space. Sit comfortably, allowing your shoulders to soften and your hands to rest loosely in your lap.

  2. Take a slow, deep breath in. Feel the air fill your lungs and expand through your chest. Imagine breathing in calm, light, and warmth.

  3. Exhale gently. Let go of any tightness or heaviness, as if you’re releasing the tension of the day.

  4. Notice what’s here. Bring your awareness to your surroundings — the temperature in the room, the sounds around you, the rise and fall of your breath.

  5. Repeat. Continue for a few cycles of breath, letting your mind settle a little more with each exhale. If emotions surface, meet them kindly. You don’t need to change them — simply allow them to be, and keep breathing.

  6. A quiet reminder:

Right now, you are safe. This moment is enough.

Take this calm with you as you move through the rest of your day. Even when the season feels overwhelming, these small pauses can help you reconnect with peace — right where you are.
